TERMS & CONDITIONS – HOUSE OF HARBOUR

Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before using the services of House of Harbour – Designer Dress Hire. By hiring any product from this website, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, you must not use our services.


CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES

The customer agrees to:

  • Inspect the garment upon receipt and notify House of Harbour immediately of any issues.
  • Notify House of Harbour immediately, with supporting photographs, of any damage that occurs during the hire period.
  • Take all reasonable care to avoid staining or damaging the garment, including but not limited to exposure to perfume, fake tan, makeup, food, or beverages.
  • Ensure fake tanning products are applied at least 48 hours prior to wearing the garment.
  • Keep the garment in their possession at all times during the hire period and not allow use by any third party.
  • Refrain from altering, modifying, or interfering with the garment in any way.
  • Return the garment using the prepaid express return satchel provided, no later than 5:00pm on the final day of the hire period.

LATE FEES

Timely returns are essential to our service.

  • If your hire period ends on a weekend, the garment must be lodged by 5:00pm the following business day (Monday).
  • Showroom returns must be placed in the designated drop box by 5:00pm on the final day of hire.

House of Harbour monitors all return tracking:

  • If tracking is not activated or visible via Australia Post, the customer remains fully liable.
  • Failure to correctly lodge a return may result in additional recovery and replacement fees.

Late returns will incur:

  • A fee of $30 per day, automatically charged to the card on file.
  • Late fees capped at two (2) weeks or the garment’s recommended retail price (RRP), whichever is greater.

If the garment is not returned within two weeks:

  • The full RRP will be charged.
  • This charge is authorised and non-refundable.

Failure to pay outstanding fees may result in:

  • Debt collection action (including recovery costs)
  • Additional enforcement measures where permitted by law

TERMS OF SERVICE

By using our website and services, you agree to:

  • Be legally bound by these Terms & Conditions.
  • Pay all amounts owing in full and on time.

House of Harbour reserves the right to:

  • Withhold hire services without refund if payment is not received.
  • Charge the card on file for any additional fees, including late fees, damages, or loss.

Cancellations & Changes

  • All hire fees are strictly non-refundable.
  • In-store customers may request a date change or store credit up to 3 days prior to the hire date (subject to availability).
  • Changes within 3 days of the hire date are not permitted.
  • Postal orders cannot be cancelled once dispatched.
  • Store credits are valid for 5 years.

ORDERS, DAMAGES & LOSS

The customer accepts full responsibility for the garment during the hire period.

House of Harbour reserves the right to:

  • Charge up to the full RRP for garments that are lost, stolen, or damaged beyond repair.
  • Charge repair or cleaning costs where applicable.
  • Charge additional hire fees if a damaged garment affects subsequent bookings.

If a garment is returned with stains or damage that prevents rehiring:

  • Cleaning fees and/or replacement costs may apply.

All garments are professionally inspected before dispatch. Any concerns must be raised immediately upon receipt. Claims made after wear or after removal of tags will not be accepted.


SHIPPING & DELIVERY

  • All postal orders are sent via express shipping.
  • Customers are responsible for ensuring accurate delivery details and availability to receive the parcel.

House of Harbour is not liable for:

  • Postal delays once the parcel has been dispatched
  • Issues caused by Australia Post or local delivery services

Customers must:

  • Place orders at least 5 business days in advance to qualify for delivery reliability support
  • Accept risk for orders placed within shorter timeframes

Returns:

  • Must be lodged via Australia Post within the agreed hire period
  • Late lodgement will incur daily late fees

Failure to return items correctly may result in:

  • Additional hire charges
  • Recovery and debt collection fees

SECURITY DEPOSITS

A security deposit is required for all hires to secure the booking and card on file.

By proceeding with a booking, you authorise House of Harbour to:

  • Charge the stored payment method for any applicable fees, including:
    • Late fees
    • Damage or cleaning costs
    • Loss or replacement of garments
    • Loss of income due to delayed returns

If a garment is not returned or is damaged beyond repair:

  • The full RRP will be charged to the card on file.

Failure to provide valid payment details may result in:

  • Cancellation of your booking
  • Refusal of service

GENERAL

House of Harbour reserves the right to:

  • Enforce all Terms & Conditions at its discretion
  • Pursue recovery of outstanding payments through appropriate legal and collection channels

By hiring from House of Harbour, you acknowledge and accept full responsibility for compliance with these Terms.
